WWII Bronze Star medal from Private First Class John J. Mackin Company “L” 350th infantry regiment 88th infantry division. Citation states he saved a soldier on Mt. Battaglia by carrying a soldier 500 yards to a aid station whom was blinded by shell fragments. He also captured numerous prisoners. Please refer to item photos for full visibility of item condition. Old US USA American Service War Medal Bronze Star with Original Coffin Case WWII. This is a nice US Military medal of the Bronze Star. The item is all original, it includes the bar pin as shown and it is in the original presentation case (see photos). This item is from an estate liquidation (see photos). I do not know the soldier’s name who was awarded this medal or the branch of service he was in (see photos). The item looks to be old and dates back to Vietnam or possibly WWII or the Korean war (viewing the photos, medal and the box should help you to date this item more precisely). This is a fine World War II U. Bronze Star Medal set that is in excellent condition. The planchet is with an unblemished bronze finish to both the obverse and reverse sides. The star is suspended from a crisp, short-draped ribbon. The medal is mounted on the correct WWII style slot broach that is complete with functional pin and roller lock assemblies. The pin back ribbon bar and enameled lapel pin are both present in the case. The black leatherette case is titled, “BRONZE STAR MEDAL” in gold leaf on two lines on the lid and is without damage. It remains a fine-looking example in excellent condition.

There was only one Scot who was awarded the Benemerenti Silver Red Cross Medal between 1916 – 1931, I have a newspaper cutting which states that, and he is a Senior Inland Revenue man called Oswald Barclay. I bought some of his full size medals a few years ago but to find these is amazing – thank you.
