This is an extremely rare Second World War solid bronze medallic award. This is a medal issued by the French Red Cross (CRF ; Croix-Rouge Francais) in Egypt. The rectangular medal has been awarded for helping prisoners of war in the Post Said camp. Whether the medal was awarded to an individual, an authority or an organisation, I do not know. The medal (6.00 cm x 14.50 cm) depicts a chained man reaching out to a Red Cross sun. Incised, on the reverse, is the following caption;’ PORT-SAID AIDE AUX PRISONNIERES DE GUERRE 1943′. The medal is also numbered’39′ on the reverse. I have seen other similar Port Said CRF bronze POW Camp medals(different numbers and design). They are rare enough. Two wings, 1 is sterling/globe. His cross, sterling, dated 1964. Please review all photos for condition, Ref #10511 BOF. With all jewelry with stones, stones sizes and amounts are figured by calculation. (for an accurate total, you would have to remove the stones from the settings) During measurements there is some degree of calculation, so it is an approximation. In regards to our time pieces watches, clocks etc. We verify the condition when they leave our office and will be stated as working or not working. All working watches may still need to be professionally cleaned/serviced in order to keep time accurately. Each of our time pieces are vintage and used to a different degree. Up for consideration we have this very rare, World War 2 named & dated Air Base instructor’s sterling silver wings along with his Military Merit medal and Meritorious Service medal. All pieces have his name. Wings engraved with his name, air base, and date- Earl J Wolf Jr Altus OK 5-24-43. From what I can find about these, less than 50 known, they were given to the instructors. This was a short-lived competition help in the 1940′s and was awarded to the top shooter in the National Guard (I believe at the National Championships).
