Exceedingly Rare 1939 FLEET MARINE CORPS RESERVE MEDAL Miniature USMC U. S. Mini

It doesn’t get rarer than this… Completely original Type 1 1939 U. Marine Corps Fleet Reserve miniature medal. These type 1 medals were only awarded (I believe there was a single BB&B contract) for a handful of months in early 1939. It was replaced by the type II medal for the second half of 1939 and a short time in 1940 before a complete activation of the Fleet Marine Corps Reserve occurred at the earliest onset of WWII. Thus, there was no need for either medal during the war, so both early types rarely surface for sale. Full size type I medals only come up for sale every few years, and I’ve only seen two miniatures in 30 years in the hobby. This is truly a time capsule piece. The lot includes Pins, patches, medals and other pieces of insignia. There are various insignia items included in the lot from all the branches of the military mentioned above and also Includes some Boy Scouts of America (BSA) items and other non military related and veterans related items. You will receive everything shown. Everything is in various conditions, some items show more wear than others. Some of the items have broken/ missing pins and other flaws. Please dont expect million dollar items. This is a junk drawer lot, there is nothing here that will make you rich, but there are items that are good for beginning collectors. A lot of the patches are reproduction or/and more modern machine produced patches. The canteen is in poor condition with a dent and crack on the bottom. 99 cents, plus the cost of a Medium Flat Rate box. The poncho liner is not included, its just a ground cover.
