Very Good Original Condition as shown. Guaranteed authentic, original, and as advertised. This is not the same as the far more common Hurst Trophy ROTC medals. This was a short-lived competition help in the 1940′s and was awarded to the top shooter in the National Guard (I believe at the National Championships). This medal is beautifully engraved to the original recipient who was part of the 104th infantry from the Maine National Guard. I’ve never seen another in person, and can’t find another example of one online. This “Porter Military Academy” medal, now “Porter Gaud” of Charleston, SC is in fantastic original condition. Porter Military Academy has been around since 1867, and this medal appears to date sometime from the 1920′s to WWII. The top bar is marked “gold filled” and the makers mark from William Schridde of Chicago is stamped on the planchet. It’s engraved “1st place aggregate” so this would have been awarded to the overall winner of the shooting competition. It’s unknown if there were any other medals awarded to any other finishers, or how many years this was done. This shooting medal is as rare as they come, and would be an excellent addition to any shooting medal or Charleston area collection. RARE 1948 U. S. European Command Small Arms Pistol Competition EIC Medal 16th Inf

The badge is in fantastic original condition as shown. We’ve never seen another and can’t find another example online. We recently acquired a pair of these post war European Command medals and this one’s named to a “Lieutenant Colonel” of the U. Army 16th infantry Regiment. This particular medal was presented for the “Slowd Fire Match”. The medal appears to be Sterling Silver, but is absent of hallmarks and makers marks, which is not unusual being these were made in theater. I believe this 1948 European Command EIC match was a one off, meaning there a likely very few of these medals in existence.
