ORIGINAL FULL SIZE WW1 EMDEN MEDAL AWARDED TO OFFICERS AND MEN OF HMAS SYDNEY. ” NOV 9 1914, HMAS SYDNEY, SMS EMDEN “. ONLY 1000 MADE, NOT A REPLICA. SHORTLY AFTER THE OUTBREAK OF WW1 THE AUSTRALIAN CRUISER SYDNEY LOCATED THE LIGHT CRUISER EMDEN IN THE COCOS ISLANDS. AFTER A BRIEF FIGHT THE EMDEN WAS BOARDED AND CAPTURED. A QUANTITY OF MEXICAN SILVER DOLLARS WERE FOUND ON BOARD. THESE WERE MOUNTED BY THE FIRM OF W KERR OF SYDNEY AND PRESENTED TO THE CREW OF THE SYDNEY. SIZE 2 1/2″ X 1 1/2″. Original Belgian Commando nr. 10 medal with 3 bars. During WW2 the Belgians where integrated inside the British Commando’s, called nr. 10 Inter Allied troop. They conducted combat missions in Italy, former Yougoslavia and the Dutch Island of Walcheren. Until this present day the 2nd Commando battalion, who inherited the traditions of nr. 10, have these 3 area’s of operations embroiled on there units flag. Only 107 of Belgian Commando’s where active during the war, so this medal is rare! This is not a copy but a real and very rare WW2 relic! An original World War. 2 grouping, attributed to a Louis Goodman, 528th Bomb Squadron, 380th Bombardment Group, a B-24 group part of the 5th Air Force that operated in the Pacific. A Purple Heart medal (damaged and face missing), un-numbered or named. A Good Conduct Medal (suspension ring missing). An original 5th Air Force patch. An original Army Air Force patch. Paperwork – Soldier’s Individual Pay Record, Notice of Classification Card, Social Security Account Card, Registration Certificate. An Air Medal ribbon bar. A sweetheart charm/chain with winged prop motif. Seven rolls of undeveloped film, all used with images visible throughout they do not appear to form part of 10. A collection of 58 photographs, lots in uniform, including several female personnel, some photographs that may be civilian and post war. Many have personalised messages on the back.
