100% GENUINE FULL SIZE & OFFICIALLY NAMED. S with Kenya clasp & EIIR 2nd type Regular Army LS&GC. Frederick McDonald enlisted 15-8-1935 and served with the Royal Artillery during WW2. He transferred to the R. C 3-9-1948 to complete his 22 years service. GVF/NEF & complete with copy page from the Royal Artillery enlistment book. COMPLETE WITH THE CORRECT MEDAL RIBBONS. 7784 Driver John Morris McDonald. 14th Divisional Ammunition Column. Also entitled to 1915 star trio. Gazette date is 27th October 1916 which makes this an early Military Medal award. There were a number of Somme awards in this gazette issue including 1st July, Gommecourt, the Quadrilateral Delville Wood amongst others. Further research is required for this award but not to many early ones come up for sale. Medal is in excellent original condition with some minor marks and edge knocks (see pictures) on a replacement ribbon.
