UNITED STATES MINT ARMED FORCES MEDALS. 2.5 oz 99.9 SILVER. Please review all the photographs and read the entire description to appreciate the beauty and value of this Medal. This design depicts, a Coast Guard, national security, Cutter at full throttle, speeding head on towards the viewer. The inscription’s “US, Coast Guard” and the Coast Guard motto “SEMPER PARATUS “(always ready) arched around the upper border The hull number, identifies the Cutter Hamilton, named for Alexander Hamilton. This design depicts two iconic symbols of the Coast Guard, a life preserver ring, and the racing stripes Mark, which is found on almost all Coast Guard craft. The racing stripes are depicted with a Heraldic hatching tradition to indicate color, with horizontal lines, indicating the color, blue and vertical lines, indicating red. The Coast Guard emblem, which is part of the racing stripe mark, is also the center. Inscribed into the life preserver ring are the Coast Guard’s core values, “HONOR”, “RESPECT”, AND “DEVOTION TO DUTY”.
Army Bronze Star in coffin type presentation case. New Old Stock (NOS). Set includes medal, ribbon bar, and lapel pin all in great condition. The case shows some signs of wear and tear consistent with age and storage, but does not have any major damage. A genuine piece of United States WWII military history. Not easy to find these! The non-swiveling straight bar suspender is attached to the medal with a single-toe claw mount and a pin through the upper edge of the medal. The British issue medals were struck in cupro-nickel. While those awarded in Canada (about 700,000). Were struck in silver. The medal is sometimes incorrectly referred to as the “Victory Medal” for the Second World War. It was granted to all full-time members of the armed forces. Troops and Merchant Marines to serve for 28 days, regardless of where they were serving, between 3 September 1939 and 2 September 1945 inclusive, the full duration of service during World War II. Good vintage condition, exactly as pictured. Original ww2 era United States Air Force medal grouping. Meritorious Service medal named to PW LAPPIN. I have done no research into him. Beautiful period ribbon bar. All 5 badges on lower right are marked as sterling.
