I obtained this medal from an estate lot that included old military buttons medals ammo photographs of the soldier, and much more. Basically everything that was saved from his years of service. This is the REAL THING, My grandfather brought it home from the war where he served mostly in the Pacific with the Marine Corps. They do not come with the medal and ribbon. Tjis is truely invaluable and nobody will have the stories that go with it and the hardships he and my grandmother went through in WW2. Thank you all for respecting these items.
This WW1 extremely rare Imperial German States, Principality of Waldeck Pyrmont Silver Medal of Merit with Swords with replacement combatants ribbon. The medal was instituted in 1878 by Prince Georg Victor and was awarded for special merritorious service to civilian(without swords) and military personel(with swords). It was awarded throughout WW1 and was discontinued in 1918. Towards the end, the medals in World War I were made of silver-plated metal. They differ from the silver ones in their greater thickness and different weight. These were awarded between 1917 and 1918. The number of silver awards is given as 30 from 1901 to 1908 and 146 from 1914 to 1915. The awards in silver-plated war metal are given as 4058. Nimmergut: German orders and decorations until 1945, Vol. This is a perfect item for collectors interested in German military history and would make a valuable addition to any collection. Made of solid silver. Dimensions are 30mm x 50mm. Weight 16.85 grams. Here’s a nice Goodwill find. A WW2 USMC medal grouping that belonged to a Gilbert M. His name is engraved on the back of the Marine Good Conduct Medal. Included in this grouping are the following: USMC Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, World War ll Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, National Defense Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Joint Meritorious Medal, Expert Rifleman Badge, Enlisted Aircrew Wings, and 4th Marine Air Wing Patch. The medals are in good condition, have a nice patina, and you can tell these were actually worn on a service members uniform. The grouping is housed in a picture frame measuring approximately 10 3/4″ x 8 3/4″. There is some wear, dings, and scuff marks on the picture frame. This is a nice grouping that would make a great addition to your USMC collection. The posted photographs are an important part of the physical description. Closely view all of them, so you may judge for yourself the condition, quality, and age of the items.
