Father & Son. Egypt Medal+Khedives Star. + WW1 Pair. CRIMP from TEIGNMOUTH DEVON

Group of Four medal to Father and Son from Teignmouth, Devon. Services in the Royal Navy, Royal Warwickshire Regiment and the Royal Irish Rifles. Egypt Medal Pair and Khedive’s Star to G. Egypt Medal is correctly named with NO pitting from the star, actually in very good condition. Very little wear to both medals/. George Henry Crimp was born in Lidstone, Devon 7th September 1851. He joined the Royal Navy on 7th September 1869, serving until 1888. Comes with copy of Service Paper sheets and Egypt medal roll. British War and Victory Medals. WW1 Medal pair to : 202065. Later served with the 15th Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles Service no. Comes with Copies Medal Index Card, & Medal Roll from the R. Medal are swing mounted for wear, in very good condition. Paper work to also include 1901 and 1911 Census. So quite a lot of paper work in all to come with these medals. WW2 Air Crew Europe Star Medal Group Killed in Action Memorial Scroll RAF

An original group of World War Two medals to a Royal Air Force Aircraftman 1st Class who was killed in action on 1st November 1943. The medals were awarded to Arthur Wilson who came from Shildon in County Durham. The Air Crew Europe Star. The original memorial scroll named to Aircraftman 1st Class A. Wilson Royal Air Force with some writing, the medals included and the address for Mrs J Wilson on the reverse. A pre-war photo of Arthur Wilson in suit and tie marked AK1 A Wilson RAF KIA on the reverse in pencil. Arthur Wilson was born in 1921 and he was 22 when he died in 1943. His death was registered in Shrewsbury and he is buried at Shildon Cemetery and is commemorated on St John’s Church Shildon war memorial – photos of the memorial shown above. I’m not sure on the actual action that caused his death but this could be researched. It would have been one of his first sorties due to his rank. The medals come with their original ribbons and they have been mounted on a piece of card. Worthy of more research. Please let me know if you need any additional photos or details. All correctly named in large RAAF impressing. 418366 S G Emery. Comes with 4 colour copy photographs of him, his grave and Clichy Northern cemetery. I DO APOLOGISE ABOUT THIS. This listing is from a small collection which I have had for a while. Please see all my other listings. With the 80th anniversary of the sinking coming up soon, this is a chance to own the Historically Important medal group awarded to The Captain of the Blue Star Line SS Arandora Star which was sunk by German U-boat U-47 Captained by Ace Gunther Prien. The medals are as follows :- Posthumous Lloyd’s Medal For Bravery at Sea named CAPTAIN. SS ARANDORA STAR 2nd JULY 1940. He was also awarded the Kings Commendation for Brave Conduct at the same time {This is absent}. WW1 Officer Pair named LIEUT. M {Lieutenant Royal Indian Marines} and Mercantile Marine named EDGAR. A Poland Polish Cross of Valour {awarded to Officers for the Withdrawal of Polish Troops from France 1940}, Atlantic Star, 1939-45 Star and a War Medal. SELFE on the Pair. Her medal card states PRISCILLA JANE MOULTON nee SELFE. The SS ARANDORA STAR was carrying 1673 people including Crew, British Military Guards German and Italian Prisoners of War and civilian Internees. She was sunk 02/07/1940 with a loss of 826 including Captain Edgar Moulton. He was Posthumously awarded the Lloyds War Medal For Bravery at sea and a German Merchant Navy Prisoner was also Posthumously cited for Heroism.
