Up for sale we have a lot of 4 WW1 medals. The 4 bar WW1 Victory medal is in very nice shape. WW1 USMC good conduct medal is in nice shape but ribbon is fraying at bottom where it meet medal. Second WW1 Victory medal ribbon is rough but bar and medal are nice. The Croix De Guerre has some tarnishing on bronze. If you need more information just ask.
Navy good conduct medal. Dated Aug 16, 1912 and awarded to C. This man was a Water Tender in the Navy and ETSed in 1920. He was from Yonkers New York S. 122-40-01 and born in 1880. He re-enlisted again in 1916. He was also entitled to the WW1 Victory medal w/Atlantic Fleet clasp (not included).

The sailor had to complete a 4 year hitch from 1938 to 1942 in order to earn this. He demonstrated Fidelity, Zeal and Obedience. The enlistment span encompassed the time leading up to and early WWII Service: 1941 – 1942. Also included are all 3 Campaign Medals and the Navy Occupation Medal. The Pacific Theater has a Fleet Bar, originally intended on the American Defense Pearl Harbor Medal Ney would have earned serving from 1938 to 1942. A Victory Medal was not included, and most likely was included in a second row of Medals. As for the American Defense Medal, he might not have put in for it, especially if he was at sea with the fleet. The WWII USN 5 Medal Bar with the Named Good Conduct Medal is in fair condition and is 79 years old. World War II US Navy Medals & Ribbons. There would be an American Defense Medal after the Good Conduct, and a Victory before the Occupation. The Navy Good Conduct was for Fidelity, Zeal, Obedience and awarded for completion of a 4 year enlistment, the American Theater was for service in the lower 48 States in training, as training cadre, service at ports, bases, airfields and stations, harbor, coastal and anti aircraft defense, recruitment, instructional positions at schools, colleges, universities and interfacing with Defense contractors. The European Theater was for service in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, United Kingdom, the Continent, Greenland, Iceland and Atlantic. The Occupation Medal was for Naval Occupation Duty in Japan or Europe. This Medal Bar follows Valor Medals and precedes foreign decorations as well as the Korean and Vietnam Wars. It is appropriate for Enlisted Sailors, most likely a Chief Petty Officer in this case, or for Officers up from the ranks.

Navy Good Conduct Medal, named and dated, with two (2) subsequent award clasps, and four campaign & occupation medals. Navy Good Conduct Medal is named to’RICHARD NOVAK HECKLER’ and dated’1946. This medal has two subsequent award clasps. Also, an American Campaign Medal, an European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, an Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, and, lastly, the Navy Occupation Medal with’EUROPE’ clasp. The medals show honest wear and tear, and some of the ribbons show slight fade and slight soiling.
This is a very nice World War II U. Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal with two enlistment bars that is near mint condition. The top bar is with the inscription,’U. Marine Corps’ surrounded by a rope border. The planchet is extremely well struck and exhibits fine detail. It is suspended from the original ribbon which remains strong, solid and with vivid color. Pinned around the ribbon are two hand engraved enlistment bars that read,’4th ENLISTMENT’ and’5th ENLISTMENT’ respectively. Each bar is undated and complete with pin and roller locking catch. The reverse of the medal is unnamed, and the rim is unnumbered.

The reverese is officially impressed “LAWRENCE/CONLEY/POTTER/1942″. The group includes a American Defense Service medal, that has the original WW2 slot type brooch, and original ribbon. The ribbon is in excellent condition and supports the FLEET bar. The planchet is in near perfect condition. The group includes the WW2 Victory medal, that has the original WW2 type crimped brooch and original ribbon. The ribbon is in near perfect condition. The planchet is also in excellent condition with no edge knocks. The group includes Thumbprint dog-tag on one side and his name and service number (279 63 16) on the other side. The group includes a sterling silver chain bracelet, that has US NAVY and his name L. Potter” engraved on the front and “sterling silver/Pat 134714/your wife/”ELSIE”. The group also has a red/white/blue 9″by2″, that has four individual pin-back ribbon bars (American Defense Service medal with one bronze star, American Campaign medal, Navy Expeditionary medal, and the EAME Campaign medal). This group of medals, dog-tag, bracelet and individual ribbon bars, were awarded and/or issued to Aviation Machinist Mate 2nd class (AMM2c). Potter was born in Tennessee, on September 16, 1922. He first joined the Navy on October 3, 1939 at Cincinnati, Ohio. He was first assigned to the USS Yukon AF-9, as a plank owner, when it was first commissioned. He went on to served two more enlistments, and was honorably discharged on October 21, 1947 at Norfolk, VA. He died on October 25, 2009, at Cincinnati, OH, and is buried at the Spring Grove Cemetery, in Cincinnati, OH. I will provide a 2 page copy of his FOIA military records from the St. Louis archives, a one page copy of his Navy muster roll, in March, 1943, and a copy of his marriage license to an. I should note that his records confirm the WW2 Victory, the American Defense Service medal and the Good Conduct medal, but does not mention any Campaign or Expedionary medals awarded.
