WW1 Cased Military Cross Medal With Collar Badges. McMechan – Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers. A First World War Military Cross awarded to Captain J. McMechan of the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers dated 1917. The medal has its original ribbon and comes in its original presentation case which includes two Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers shoulder. The medal is inscribed to the reverse Capt. McMechan, Royal Inniskilling Fus, 1917. The medal and badges are of standard sizes. The set with case weighs 225g. The medal is in great condition with very minimal wear. The ribbon has some slight discolouration from age. The badges are in good condition. The case is in good order with a little wear to the outside and a pen mark to the inner silk. The Military Cross (MC) is a third-level British Armed Forces military decoration awarded in recognition of an act or acts of exemplary. Gallantry during active operations against the enemy on land. The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers was an Irish line infantry regiment of the British Army in existence from 1881 until 1968. Was formed in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 27th (Inniskilling) Regiment of Foot and the 108th Regiment of Foot. It saw service in the Second Boer War, the First World War and the Second World War. In 1968 it was amalgamated with the other. Regiments in the North Irish Brigade, the Royal Ulster Rifles, and the Royal Irish Fusiliers (Princess Victoria’s) into the Royal Irish Rangers. WW2 Medal Set Plus Badges, Photographs Etc- W. O. II (C. S. M) M. W. F. Pettet Roy

WW2 Medal Set Plus Badges, Photographs etc- W. Pettet – Royal Engineers. A fine set of Second World War medals plus miniatures awarded to Warrant Officer Class 2, Company Sargeant Major Michael W. Pettet of the Royal Engineers (he also served with the Hampshire Home Guard) along with badges certificates and photographs collected throughout his career. The medals are mounted and come with their miniatures (also mounted). There is also the L. Edward VII Medal which is unmounted. The LSGC medal is named 5487795 CPL. The set also comes with: A Royal Hampshire regiment cap badge, a Royal Hampshire regiment Officers bronze cap badge, a Royal Hampshire regiment Officers Gilt and enamel badge, a cloth cap badge, a Pair of British Army Officers Insignia Crown Pips, three unit badges, a Hampshire Fire Brigade cap badge and a City of Southampton Fire Brigade cap badge. Along with this is a framed and signed Appointment as Officer of the Home Guard certificate from Queen Elizabeth II dated 1952 and signed, as well as one framed photograph and seven unframed photographs of Company Sargeant Major Pettet himself in various stages of his career. The certificate comes in its original box. The medals and badges come in a protective hard case. The medals and badges are of the standard sizes. The photographs are of varying size. The framed certificate measures 28.5cm (11 ¼ inches) by 38cm (15 inches). The set (including box) weighs 2.6Kg. The medals are all in good condition with no damages. The badges are all in good condition with minimal wear. There is some dog earing to a few of the photos, but the framed photo and certificate are both in good order.
