Wonderful Pre WW2-WW2 Sword and Medal Grouping Of. Allen who was commissioned as a first lieutenant on July 19th, 1934. He served honorably for over 30 Years and even served on Mac Arthurs staff in the pacific during WW2. Colonel Leonard Stebbins Allen was born in Hinton, West Virginia in 1912. His military career began in 1929 at the Citizens Military Training Corps in New York. He was later commissioned as a 1st Lieutenant and ordered to active duty in 1941 with the Coastal Artillery Corps. After numerous assignments and promotions, Lieutenant Colonel Allen served on General Douglas MacArthur’s staff in the pacific theater until 1945. Later joining the New York National Guard, commanding a guard battalion. In 1951 Allen was ordered to active service during the Korean war and served as a Brigade and Group Executive Officer. Promoted once more, Colonel Allen became the Chief of New York City Selective Service Section Chief up until his retirement in 1972 after serving 30+ years in the Armed Forces. Singled edged, bright, slightly curved blade. Triple acid etched floral and patriotic scenes on grey background. Maker marked by Colonial on the ricasso. 4 branch “D” guard with composite grips. Double hanger steel scabbard with Presented by NY County Andrew Jackson Chapter US Daughters 1812 to L. Allen 1934 engraved near the throat, double hangers with chain hanger. Blade length: 30″, overall: 35 1/2″. Engraved near the riccasso Presented to Brigadier General L. Allen 1934 – 1972 by NYC SEL SVC SEC & HHD NYARNG. Steel scabbard with chain hanger. 3 WW2 Medal Grouping (3). 4 Ny National Guard Medals. One NYNG 20 Year service! (one Sterling Silver) NYNG Conspicuous Service Medal Beautiful heavy silver medal. 22 US Army Dui Badges. 9TH Bullion Patch Large US Army Hat Device. Also Several photos and a nice grouping of ephemera pertaining to Allens career. All contained in two beautiful period cases with one lid adorned with Beautiful NYNG Placard and the other painted with the design of the 9th. WWII unnamed 976th Field Artillery Bronze Star grouping. The group was found in a storage locker sale sorry no history or name. The group includes Bronze Star and Good Conduct medals. 6 ribbon bars, Sterling screw back ruptured duck and theater made 976th Field Artillery distinctive insignia all items are pictured.

This is an authentic World War II Imperial Japanese Army artillery badge. Found in a family warehouse, this badge was likely awarded to distinguished artillery personnel. Given its age, it shows signs of wear and tarnish, but it’s a genuine piece of military history.
A rare complete group of insignia to the 22nd Artillery Supply Company famous for its bear soldier “Wojtek”. The set consists of a pair o. F collar “Wojtek” 22nd Artillery Supply Company Insignia and a “Wojtek” 22nd Artillery Supply Company Breast. Badge in the form of a driving wheel, with a bear holding an artillery shell, green enamel background. Smooth reverse with the maker “Pagani SPA, Milano”, above the mark a threaded post and a spinner. All badges are with the original spinners and washers. One of the most iconic units of the 2nd Polish Corps. A beautiful, hard to find group. Wojtek accompanied the 2nd Polish Corps through the Italian Campaign, serving with the 22nd Artillery Supply Company. During the Battle of Monte Cassino, in Italy in 1944, Wojtek helped move crates of ammunition and became a celebrity with visiting Allied generals and statesmen. After the war, once the Polish army was disbanded Wojtek lived out the rest of his life at the Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland. The 22nd Supply Company is most famous for its bear soldier “Wojtek” which became the symbol of the company and the legend of the Polish Army in Exile.
