Here we have a Brilliant Rare WW1 French Air Force Pilot Veterans Tunic Uniform Medals Set, Very interesting tunic comprising of what looks to be a majors post ww1 1920 pattern officers tunic with pre ww2 air force collar tabs, these look to have been resewn on by hand, there is sporadic mothing on the tunic as evident in the photos but it displays great, also has original ww1 pilots badge numbered B 17107 (which looks to have a replacement pin) Two WW1 French medals on ribbon mounts, a leather sambrown belt and a pair of 1918 dated breeches with buttons, overall a fantastic scarce set, not recommended for wear, tunic is a size 38r approx and breeches are a 28 waist, Perfect for museums, ww1 collectors, personal displays, lectures, french enthusiasts, early aviation fanatics, dealers and much much more! I need to lighten my collection a little to branch of in a different direction, so this is up for grabs at a great price! Not only is this identifiable to this soldier, but comes with paperwork and a photograph of Jim (James). Also included is a copy of his honourable discharge cert. Trousers have a few small nips around the crotch, but nothing terrible. The tunic is in good, but worn condition the labels on both are immaculate and if I didn’t know better they look brand new! Trousers dated 1916 and tunic is dated 1917. The book is printed by the YMCA for the American Expeditionary Force. Needs a good home, I have never had the room to have it on display. An extremely rare authentic example tailor made entirely from silk. This uniform also retains its original cords and extensive ribbon bar. I’ve been collecting high ranking Japanese uniforms for many years now and this is to date the only example I have come across that was tailored from heavy silk. It truly is an amazing piece. I’m thinning my collection and only have room for a few uniforms, so unfortunately I have to let it go to someone else. All aspects of construction are correct and the ware is appropriate for its age. Original US WW1 Uniform Tunic 1st Infantry Division withMedal Big Red One

The coat is made of wool and is in nice condition with only a few, 3 or 4 small moth holes, no soiling and no major damage. The shoulder patch insignia is of the 1st Infantry Division The Big Red One. The size of this tunic is small. There are no size or maker labels in this tunic. The victory medal attached to the tunic has two bars; Meuse Argonne and Defensive Sector. I bought this tunic over 30 years ago, along with the 1st Inf Div helmet in my other current listing. I bought both the tunic and helmet from a collectable shop as originals. They had no information or history on the soldier. I have not cleaned or altered the tunic while it has been in my possession. The tunic is from a smoke and pet free home and has no bad odor. Please view all the photos for your assessment of the condition, make, model and description of this item.
