Offered is a group of 7 WW medals and 2 clasps to KX 146437 Stoker 1st Class J (John) Carter Royal Navy. The group consists of 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star with France and Germany Clasp, Africa Star with North Africa 1942-43 Clasp, Italy Star, Burma Star, War medal and Defence medal. Also included is the postal carton of issue and award paperwork, but no ticker tape slip. There are various official war time photographs including pictures of Carter and WW2 related training paperwork etc with later documentation. An interesting group worthy of further research. This is a Second World War Group of Medals for a British Army Soldier. The soldier was in the Royal Signals Regiment. There are five medals, in all, awarded to 234330 Signalman David Caradog Davies. The various effects come with these medals and they are his. Pair of ID (Dog) tags. Royal Signals cap badge. Issue Manual:’Signal Training, All Arms’, dated 1942. Palestine guide book, with pull-out maps, dated 1942. The ex-soldier’s 1980s passport. The medals are in a good condition with no damage. However, being already well mounted, I have left them as they are. The other items are in a used condition, with no real damage. Good authentic WW2 set. Offered is a George VI Royal Engineers sweetheart bar brooch (could be used as a tie pin) in 9 carat gold. There is a slight bend to the bar as shown in the pictures. If you are reading this I would guess that you are interested in Royal Observer Corps medals and already know how much rarer a medal presented to a female is. Secondly, there is also a considerable degree of rarity for these medals presented to officers. Added to the above two points is the fact that this pair was also presented to a husband and wife which I have personally never seen before and I’m sure must be ever rarer. These particular medals were awarded to OBSERVER OFFICER W. And his wife OBSERVER A. Medal awarded 1961, bar issued 1973 served with 13 group [Carmarthen]. Alice May WEALE Medal awarded 1964. Served with 13 Group. The officers medal has the clasp and there is also a pair of patches included. Apologies for the photos but I will put some better ones up when I get chance.
