This is a Second World War Group of Medals for a British Army Soldier. The soldier was in the Royal Signals Regiment. There are five medals, in all, awarded to 234330 Signalman David Caradog Davies. The various effects come with these medals and they are his. Pair of ID (Dog) tags. Royal Signals cap badge. Issue Manual:’Signal Training, All Arms’, dated 1942. Palestine guide book, with pull-out maps, dated 1942. The ex-soldier’s 1980s passport. The medals are in a good condition with no damage. However, being already well mounted, I have left them as they are. The other items are in a used condition, with no real damage. Good authentic WW2 set. ORIGINAL WW1 1914/1915 STAR AND BRITISH WAR MEDAL TO. VOLUNTARY AID DETACHMENT NURSE HENRIETTA EDITH DAVIES. Henrietta Edith Davies daughter of Humphrey (Professor of Languages) and Emma Ida Davies. Born 1886 in France. Baptised 24 November 1887 in Whalley Lancashire. According to the 1901 Census Henrietta was 15 and living with her uncle (a Surgeon) and aunt at 91 Preston New Road, Blackburn, Lancashire. This was her address when she joined the V. As a nurse aged 30 on 11/09/15 She served at the Military General Hospital Egypt, until she was demobilised on the 7/03/19. Her Medal entitlement is confirmed. She was also awarded the Victory medal, this sadly missing. MIC is available from the National Archives WO 372/23/10571. I found the above information using the website scarletfinders. Co. Uk.
