Alvin C. York World War I Medal Of Honor Recipient Hero In France Autograph

Alvin Cullum York [1887 1964] better known as Sergeant York was one of the most decorated American solders during World War I who was awarded the Medal of Honor. Sergeant York received his award for his actions during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France. During the offensive Sergeant York lead an attack on a German machine gun nest which resulted in the destruction of the machine gun nest, the recovery of 32 machine guns, the killing of 20 German solders and the capture of 132 others. The document is a check drawn upon the Union Bank, Jamestown, Tenn, dated Jan 26, 1937 and is signed”Sgt. The check is completed in his hand, measures 6.25 x 2.75 inches and is in fine condition with trivial wear The autograph is authentic and the check is ideal for display. Authentic GOLD STAR MEDAL # 5568. Award t o Hero of SOVIET UNION. S HELEPOV PETR EMELYANOVICH. SHELEPOV PETR EMELYANOVICH b. 07/14/1920 in the village of Bogdano-Verbki, Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukraine, in a peasant family. Hi graduated from 7 classes, worked on a collective farm. In the Red Army since 1940. A participant in the war since June 1941. Shooter of the 109th Guard Rifle Regiment 37th Guards, rifle Division, 65th Army 2nd Belorussian front. 04/20/1945 in battles during the crossing of the West Oder in the area of Kolbittsov (southwestern city of Szczecin , Poland) , as part of the assault, the group knocked the enemy out of the trenches captured an important height, and single-handedly repulsed several enemy counterattacks. The heroism and courage of Pyotr SHELEPOV made it possible to establish the crossing and force the river with the main forces of the regiment. The title of Hero of Soviet Union was awarded on June 29,1945. After the war he graduated from Kharkov legally Institute. Lived in the city of Verkhnedneprovsk. Hi worked a a teacher at the College. RUSSIAN WW2 PARTISAN MEDAL Elizaveta Chaikina 1918-41 Lisa Liza SOVIET USSR HERO. A Bronze Medal commemorating Elizaveta Ivanovna Chaikina, a Russian Partisan killed by the Nazis in 1941. We are pleased to present this Russian Bronze Medal for your consideration. It commemorates the lifetime of. She was declared a Hero of the Soviet Union in 1942 and had a monument erected in her honor in 1944. The Medal has her name in Russian, along with her birth and death year. The Medal (exclusive of the attached red ribbon) measures 0.87 inches (22 mm) in diameter and is 0.10 inch (2.5 mm) thick. With the attached ribbon and metal holding the ribbon at top and bottom, the entire assembly weighs 13 grams. You can see the mark in picture 7. The condition of the Medal is very good. The side of the Medal with the lettering has intact red enamel within the flower at top. Small portions of a few letters are missing, but primarily noticed under magnification. The ribbon shows some mild edge wear and slight soil, but remains in good shape. All pictures show the actual Medal you will receive. Love and thank you from Laurence and Sally Martin! Fine condition, with small cancellation holes not touching the signature and a faint vertical bend running through the center of the check. Alvin York was one of the most highly decorated American veterans of World War I, awarded a Medal of Honor for leading an attack on a German machine gun nest during the Argonne offensive in France in October 1918.
