Kennedy died in 1947 and is buried in New York. He is listed as a Cook. Looks like he may have also served in World War I. Therefore he would have been entitled to a WW1 Victory Medal and a WW2 Victory Medal. With one battle star and a Pacific Theater Medal and demobilization in 1944 this would have limited him to Pearl Harbor, Philippine Islands, Burma, Central Pacific, East Indies, Aleution Islands or someother pre-44 battle. Group requires more research. Document to TEC 5 Ralph J. Document authorizes Kennedy wear of of the GCM, ADSM w/star, Asia-Pacific medal w/star. Has fold lines from being in a pocket or later a wallet. Document signed by 1Lt James I. Looks as if he was being demobilized in 1944. Army Good Conduct Medal. Medal is slot brooch, unnumbered and unnamed. Amerian Defense Service Medal with large Bronze Battle Star. Medal is slot brooch. Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal. No indication of a Bz Battle Star being attached. Three WWII ribbon bars, GCM, ADSM w/Bz Battle Star, and Asiatic-Pacific Theater medal. All three ribbons show signs of use. Asiatic-Pacific ribbon has two small holes in center where star attachment is missing. Medals & Ribbon bars show normal wear/tear associated with age. Medals are loose with no box. They may show minor age related defects. Pinback ribbon bars show age related defects due to wear, Asiactic Pacific ribbon missing small bz star attachment. Document may show minor age related defects including toning, fold lines. Serial number blanked out only in photo. Normal wear and tear associated with age. Pre WW2 Navy Good Conduct/ UDC Medal Grouping Career Navy Man Engraved Named and dated. This is a very unqiue little set of medal dating early 1920s-WW2. This set is in need of a lot more research to out it alo together. Present is his Navy GCM 1923 Dated, award bar from 1929 and another award bar from 1938. Also included is his lower number WW2 UDC United Daughters of the Confederacy War service cross number 3775 w dolphin device on ribbon. Also his american defense medal w fleet bar. I very little info on this man other then he served from sometime around 1920 to post ww2. He was enlisted most of his career but gained a commission in ww2 and retired a Lt Commander. He died in 1969 and was buried in Arlington national cemetery. Very nice set with a number of unique and rare pieces. It appears a lot of his first 10 years with the navy were spent at Hampton Roads Station VA with the navy is roll is unknown. Pictures tell the story! Dont miss this one!
