For sale are a WW2 British Royal Eletrical Mechanical Engineers Trench Art Jewellery Box Which is in good condition (however there is one pip missing on the right hand side which can be easily replaced). This Jewellery/ cigar box is decorated with ww2 period royal electrical mechanical engineers cap badges, collar badges, royal army ordnance corps beret badge, officers crown pipe and rank pips. This is a nice unusual piece. Trench art is any decorative item made by soldiers, prisoners of war, or civilians where the manufacture is directly linked to armed conflict or its consequences. It offers an insight not only to their feelings and emotions about the war, but also their surroundings and the materials they had available to them. This is a nice unusual pieces of trench art!
Full-size Queen Elizabeth II issue 1962 Campaign Service Medal, with Northern Ireland clasp, marking service during the Troubles since 1969. It is named to 24213802 Sapper P D J Jerrard of the Royal Engineers. In good, original condition, as per the photos, with some natural toning to the silver. It’s fitted with a pin mounting bar. Offered is a George VI Royal Engineers sweetheart bar brooch (could be used as a tie pin) in 9 carat gold. There is a slight bend to the bar as shown in the pictures. The pin and lock on the clasp are in full working order. Fitted case retailed by Sharman D Neill Ltd of Belfast. 54mm x 24mm with a weight of 4.71gms. All of them being genuine. Some of the Victorian and WW1 medals have been polished but you will see from my photographs the condition. Singles, pairs, trios and family groups. Some medals have photocopy paperwork with them as well. Some do have modern ribbons, but the majority are on their original ribbons. All are full size unless otherwise stated. This is a single silver General Service Medal – George VI era with a PALESTINE 1945-48 clasp on. This medal does not swivel. The edge has been engraved with the following. Staff Serjeant with the Royal Engineers. Medal year book No. 174 General Service Medal 1918-62. Please see photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition. There are normal signs of age and use wear including some surface scuffs, impact marks, or dirt etc. Medal is nice and the ribbon is grubby. The medal is 36.1mm dia. My stock ref : AK-011022 in wood drawers with groups / single medal album folder. Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are. He was captured and taken Prisoner of War at Tobruk on 1 June 1942. 1939-45 Star; Africa Star; Defence and War Medals 1939-45, with Army Council enclosure, in named card box of issue addressed to Mr. Hambridge, 30 Crown Road, Kidlington, Oxford; together with the recipients German P. Identity tag Stalag IV B 259838. Herman Olaf Jack Hambridge was born in March 1922 and attested for the Royal Engineers on 16 October 1939. He served with 235 Field Park Company during the Second World War, and was captured and taken Prisoner of War at Tobruk on 1 June 1942. Held at camps initially in Italy, and then at Werdau (Germany), he was liberated on 16 April 1945. We DO NOT receive any of this and we have no control over it.
