As you’ll see from our pictures, these awards have not been looked at for decades and have heavy patina but this would clean away if desired. We have not researched either brother however the previous owner of the medals suggested they were twins from the North East of Scotland. This genuine WW1 World War One death plaque measures 120mm (5) across and comes complete with its original cardboard holder as well as the star medal and the Royal letters with their original postal tube. The medal is engraved 2733 Pte J. Tuckey Rif Brig ” and the plaque carries the full name ” James Joseph Tuckey and the paperwork is to L/Cpl James Joseph Tuckey Rifle Brigade, with the postal tube addressed to Mr J Tuckey. It all came from a house clearance and is completely un-researched and fresh to the market with the medal and the plaque in good condition and the paperwork has clearly been kept tightly rolled in the postal tube for many years, please see photos. Pair of memorial plaques to brothers, both unique casualty names, plus boxed Victory medal to third brother who survived. Plaques in excellent condition and named to Albert Victor Pattrick and George Douglas Pattrick, sons of Robert George and Margaret Pattrick of Scarborough. Albert Victor Pattrick’s service records survive, and hard copies are included in the lot. He served in France with the 21st Kings Royal Rifle Corps from 5th May 1916, before transferring to 7th KRRC in March 1918. He fought in the following battles. 1916 Battle of Flers-Courcellette, Battle of Transloy Ridge. 1917 Battle of Messine, Battle of Pilkem Ridge, Battle of Menin Road, Operations on the Flanders Coast. 1918 Battle of St Quentin. He was wounded on 24th March 1918 during the German spring offensive, and died of wounds the next day. Included is a large, high quality photo of his grave in Noyon New British Cemetary. Prior to the war he had been a clerk employed by Scarborough’s renowned Laughton family. His brother’s plaque is named to George Douglas Pattrick. Like his brother, he was born in Hull. He had worked in Scarborough as a solicitor’s clerk, and during the war served in the 41st Battalion, Machine Gun Corps. He died of Spanish Flu in York Military Hospital on 7th January 1919, and is buried in Fulford Cemetary. His service records do not survive, but his battalion served during the Somme Campaign in 1916, battles of Arras and Third Ypres in 1917, and during the German spring offensive of 1918. Lastly, the Victory medal awarded to a third brother. 37524 Sgt Harold C Pattrick Royal Engineers. In original box in original registered post envelope, addressed to the family home, 12 Manor St, Scarborough. Even has the original paper slip stating Please note that the rank engraved on this medal is that which was held on disembarkation with the B. This brother served in Egypt from 29th October 1915, so presumably went on to take part in the Palestine campaign. Copies of Medal Index Cards, census details, pictures of names on Scarborough War Memorial and other research included. Please feel free to request more pictures. The Victory and British war medal come with the original paperwork from the Record Office. There is also a postcard picture which I take it is of the soldier in question HENRY YAROSLAW. Is marked around the 2 medals and stamped on the rear of the Star medal. Royal Field Artillery Driver “A”Bty 83Bde. Born in Kensington London. All look to have original ribbons as are showing signs of age as well as the medals. A nice group to have.
