EXCELLENT MINUS CONDITION with most of the original finish present. 1903 Coast Artillery 1st Class Gunner badge. Stamped on the reverse of the clasp to 87 CO COAST ARTILLERY / No 14. (This company was assigned to Fort Slocumb, New York at this time). Measures approximately 1 9/16 across at the suspension. There are some knocks and dark areas across the top of the suspension bar and a lot of scratching to the silver emblem. Some scuffs to the high points and tarnish at that point. Otherwise excellent minus condition. This is a hobby not a living, so I try to keep it fun, otherwise why do it. This badge was introduced in 1903 and discontinued in 1909. The initial order of 1700 badges was produced by the Rock Island Arsenal which also impressed them with the company numbers. _gsrx_vers_632 GS 6.9.8 (632).
