THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, AUTHORIZED BY ACT OF CONGRESS, 20 JULY 1942, TAKES PLEASURE IN PRESENTING THE LEGION OF MERIT TO MASTER SERGEANT WALTER A. RUBE, UNITED STATES ARMY, FOR EXCEPTIONALLY MERITORIOUS CONDUCT IN THE PERFORMANCE OF OUTSTANDING SERVICES TO THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES WITH THE COAST ARTILLERY CORPS FROM MARCH 1944 TO SEPTEMBER 1945. He was federalized with the 27th Division with the rank of Master Sergeant on 16 September 1940. At that time, he was married, 70 tall and 144 pounds, with two years of high school. He died in 1985.
