RUSSIAN SOVIET WW2 ORDER HERO USSR NEVSKY MEDAL COLONEL 1944. This order is made of silver enameled. Multi construction, with rivets, WW2 issue. This order is researched, all the documents included. His military record shows that he was an officer in an artillery 10 division 3rd Belorussian front. He was a commander of division. In his award list, it shows that he was awarded for destroying German armor bunkers, machine gun positions and mine artillery batteries and many Nazi German army soldiers. Order of Nevsky has been issued for his bravery and personal combat courage. Order is in an excellent collector condition, no damage or repair of any kind. Dimensions: Diameter: 2 inches or 50 mm. His military record shows that he was an officer in an NKVD (secret police). He was a Hero of the Soviet Union (highest military award title) He is listed in the Hero of the Soviet Union book. Alvin Cullum York [1887 1964] better known as Sergeant York was one of the most decorated American soliders during World War I who was awarded the Medal of Honor. Sergeant York recieved his award for his actions during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France. During the offensive Sergeant York lead an attack on a German machine gun nest which resulted in the destruction of the machine gun nest, the recovery of 32 machine guns, the killing of 20 German soliders and the capture of 132 others. The document is a check drawn upon the Union Bank of Jamestown, Tennessee, dated October 24, 1936, completed in his hand and is signed”Sgt Alvin C. The check measures 6.25 x 3.50 inches and is in fine condition. The autograph is authentic and the check is attractive and is ideal for display.
