Lot of 2 world war 2 medals. One is Army of occupation and the other is European African Eastern campaign. Both come in box. Please check out my other items for vintage and old antiques and collectibles with lots of rare items that were found at numerous estates across NYC, NJ, PA, IL and CT! Items are very rare and vintage lots range across many different categories. Most items are from collectors and hobbyist that took care of their belongings.
The badge is in fantastic original condition as shown. We’ve never seen another and can’t find another example online. We recently acquired a pair of these post war European Command medals and this one’s named to a “Lieutenant Colonel” of the U. Army 16th infantry Regiment. This particular medal was presented for the “Slowd Fire Match”. The medal appears to be Sterling Silver, but is absent of hallmarks and makers marks, which is not unusual being these were made in theater. I believe this 1948 European Command EIC match was a one off, meaning there a likely very few of these medals in existence.
