Measures 32.28 mm in diameter, 2.87 mm in thickness at the very edge of the medal, and 35.72 mm in height (including the eyelet). It weighs 22.9 grams. The soldiers eyes, finger, and rifle, for example, are all visible. The enamel shows some minor superficial dings and scratches but none penetrating the silver and barely visible with the naked eye. Its double-layer steel suspension is period to the medal. Between January 1938 and December 1940, 32,127 people were awarded the medal.
