WW2 Royal Red Cross and Burma Campaign medal group to Major M. Royal Red Cross Decoration 1st Class engraved on rear 1957, 1939 -45 Star, Burma Star, Defence and War Medals 1939 1945 all unnamed as issued attributed to Major M. Comes with copies (fathers) WW1 service papers, London Gazettes and Register of Nurses. Major Muriel Irene Newbury was born on the 11/11/1914 in Ilford, her father Percy Cecil Newbury served in France with the Royal Garrison Artillery. She trained at the University College Hospital London 1932 -1934, and was a registered Nurse 15/3/1935. Miss Newbury enlisted with the Queen Alexandras Imperial Military Nursing Service in 1937 as a provisional Staff Nurse (206353). Granted a commission with the rank of Sister 30/5/1941, Senior Sister to Junior Commander 1/2/1949, Senior Commander 1/9/49, Major with seniority 1/8/1949. She saw service in Burma in WW2 and the roll of practising Midwife 1954/55 records her as stationed at Military Hospital Bovington. Major Newbury was made a Member of the Royal Red Cross 1st Class on the New Years Honours list 1/1/1957 and the medal was presented to her in Bermuda by the Governor 15/7/1957, she retired as a Major in 1964 on reaching the compulsory retirement age and died in London on the 18/2/1968. WWI US Victory Medal 2 Campaign Bars Issue Box Paperwork Numbered AEF WW1

Here is a World War I US Victory Medal. The Medal was US Army as it features a pair of Campaign Bars. These are Aisne – Marne and Defensive Sector. It is named to Galen B Joyce and though the Medal is not struck with a number the receipt has the Medal’s US Army Quartermaster Depot registered number: 1,214,557. Given the Aisne – Marne Campaign the soldier may have been wounded and recovered in the Defensive Sector. The group includes the Medal with Campaign Bars, Box, Envelope and Receipt with data dated 1935 The Medal itself was made just after the War and was in inventory. The Medal, Box and Documents are in about fair to fair condition and range from 85 to 102 years old. WWI US Army, Navy, Marines Medals, Ribbons, Award. US Army Victory Medal, Box, Documents including Receipt. Grouping Named, Medal assigned a Number. Everything is legible, early Pin Back, Box intact. Patina, Bars, Pin Mount heavily tarnished. Here is an amazing WW 1 Victory Medal with 5 Campaign Bars AND PIN WITH 1 STAR, rare to find! The Campaign Bars are DEFENSE SECTOR, MEUSE-ARGONNE, ST. The medal and ribbon and bars are in nice condition as shown! The medal is used and is in a good but worn condition with signs of age and wear to the ribbon. The medal has a pin with a drop down catch fastener that is in good working order. This combination of bars was common for the 26th Infantry (Yankee) Division and the 42nd Infantry (Rainbow) Division.
