WW2 US Army Air Corps Pilot USAF Col. William Wolfendon 323rd Bomb Grouping Lot

Extremely rare large grouping from the estate of Col. Everything from photos, medals, pins, tons of documents, etc. He was a Army air Corp pilot during ww2, part of the 323rd bomb group. He flew 67 bombing missions based from the United kingdom. His career continued long after ww2, and by the time of his retirement he was the commanding officer of Westover AF base. Included in the lot are multiple sterling silver pins, including his sterling silver pilot wings, sterling oak leaf pins, and U. Lapel pins, all shown on his uniform in the 8×10 portrait photo. Also included are his ww2 issued ID dated 1942, name tag, even his personal record with his retirement documents, medical documents, probably an additional 20-30 documents on top of everything shown in photos. You are looking at the Logbook and Medals to Sgt Derrick John Hardy who flew with 44 (Rhodesia) Squadron who took part in 24 sorties including the U Boat pens at Trondheim and the bombing of Dresden and many other ops. Included is also his cloth sleeve badge and cap badge. The medals are the War, Defence, 39-45 Star and France and Germany Star. Log book has lots of details on his training and sorties, also certificates for various courses he took including gunnery bomb aiming and navigation. An original World War. 2 grouping, attributed to a Louis Goodman, 528th Bomb Squadron, 380th Bombardment Group, a B-24 group part of the 5th Air Force that operated in the Pacific. A Purple Heart medal (damaged and face missing), un-numbered or named. A Good Conduct Medal (suspension ring missing). An original 5th Air Force patch. An original Army Air Force patch. Paperwork – Soldier’s Individual Pay Record, Notice of Classification Card, Social Security Account Card, Registration Certificate. An Air Medal ribbon bar. A sweetheart charm/chain with winged prop motif. Seven rolls of undeveloped film, all used with images visible throughout they do not appear to form part of 10.
