Original WW1 WWI German Iron Cross 2nd class W/ Pour Le Merite Blue Max Medal and eagle clasp. I’ve had this one in the collection for almost 30 years. The Veterans wore these after the War in order to be modest and not wear their large medals in public. This one is especially nice, as it has the crowned eagle clasp at the top and the Blue Max medal, which makes me think he was a pilot. I wish I had the name attached to this, but I don’t. Very nice piece for any serious WWI collection. Medal has wear and oxidation, a little bit of enamel loss to the blue max pin and green verdigris to the edges, as you would expect over all these years. Measures 5 long overall. The case has inscription on it: Rzecpospolita, 15.03.1939, Lwow. Size : 109 x 78 x 19 mm. Hand made – very nice job. From real old collection! The item is bought from Polish family estate sale with a few other WW2 items. Their grandfather was in Armia Krajowa during WW2. Discount is available – just push button. Wikipedia : The Home Army (Polish: Armia Krajowa; Polish pronunciation: [arma krajva], abbreviated AK) was the dominant Polish resistance movement in Poland occupied by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union during World War II. I have owned tons of WW2 Navy uniforms and groupings but this is the first Merchant Marine grouping that I have ever handled. Some is original WW2, some a few post war items and lots of documents. The jumper is 1943 dated and in mint condition, the large color crossing the equator document is WW2 dated as are a few documents. His dress uniform I could not date, is in excellent condition and has bullion anchor patches on each sleeve and is the jacket and pants. There are two berets as well. Also are post war documents and some copies of his wartime papers, some post war Merchant Marine newspapers and some copies of wartime documents regarding his service at Anzio on board a vessel. The medals appear to be post WW2 copies made for the Merchant Marine. Also includes post war Elk Lodge and other fraternal organization documents. Just a neat group with lots of research done already! I do the best I can to describe each item and take great pictures in natural sunlight when possible but please understand that generally I deal with artifacts that have seen military service, are sometimes over 100 years old, have survived sometimes more than one World War and years of storage. They are not brand new, off the shelf items with no defects, scratches, nicks etc. If you have any problem with the item(s) just send me a message and we will work something out. They were mounted using double sided sticky pads at some point and still have visible signs of this on the reverse of the ribbons. Sometimes I may replace a visibly worn or broken strap. Original World War 1 WW1 WWI Imperial German Iron Cross EK1 800 Vaulted Medal

Original World War 1 German Vauled 800 EK1 Iron Cross. Cross is in excellent condition with fine details and a working hinge and clasp affixed to the original pin. Original velvet and silk EK1 case with working close pin. As you can see from the photos the case closes and locks, there is just some slight separation from the sides of the case but that does not detract from its functionality or beauty since its generally open anyways. Like most, I picked up the collecting bug many years ago when I was younger rummaging through the nooks and crannies of my grandparent’s summer house in upstate New York. Today, you can still see me doing the same thing, only I don’t fit through much anymore but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying the thrill of the hunt. Lot of 7 Original British Medals and Ribbons with 8 clasps awarded to Private A. The medals and ribbons include Queen’s Sudan Medal, Queen’s South Africa Medal with 3 State clasps, King’s South Africa Medal with 2 clasps, WW1 1914 Star with “5th Aug-22nd Nov 1914″ bar, British War Medal, The Victory Medal and 1897 Khedive’s Sudan Medal with 2 clasps. 1 Queen’s Sudan Medal is in silver and was awarded British and Egyptian forces which took part in the Sudan campaign between 1896 and 1898. No clasps were awarded. Around the rim is the recipient’s information 4229 Pte A. 2 Queen’s South Africa Medal which is also in silver with 3 State clasps- Transvaal, Orange Free State and Cape Colony. This medal was awarded to British and Colonial military personnel and civilians employed in official capacity who served in the Second Boer War in South Africa from 11 October 1899 to 31 May 1902. The rim of this medal is noted 4229 PTE A. Bennett 2 Sea Highrs. The Transvaal clasp was awarded to all troops in the South African Republic at any time between 24 May 1900 and 31 May 1902 who had not received a clasp for a specific action. The Orange Free State clasp was awarded to all troops who were in this area between 28 Feb 1900 and 31 May 1902 who had not received a clasp for a specific action in the Orange Free State. Cape Colony clasp was awarded to all troops in the Cape of Good Hope at any time between 11 Oct 1899 and 31 May 1902 who had not received a clasp for a specific action in the Cape of Good Hope or the “Natal” clasp. 3 Kings South Africa Medal in silver with 2 clasps, South Africa 1901 and South Africa 1902. The King’s South Africa medal was awarded to all British and Colonial military personnel who served in the Second Boer War in South Africa and who were in the theatre on or after 1 Jan 1902 and who had completed 18 months of service in the conflict prior to 1 June 1902. This medal was always paired with the Queen’s South Africa medal, it was never awarded singly. Around the rim of the Kings South Africa medal is engraved 4229 Pte A. The “South Africa 1901″ clasp was awarded to all troops who served in S. Africa between 1 Jan. 1901 and 31 Dec. 1901 while the “South Africa 1902″ clasp was awarded to all troops who served in S. 1902 and 31 May 1902. 4 1914 Star medal (Mons Star) and “5thAug-22Nov 1914″ bar both in bronze. The reverse side of the star is engraved 3/7553 PRT:A. 5 The silver British War Medal which was awarded to a member of the fighting forces who had to leave his native shore in any part of the British Empire while on service. The rim of this medal is engraved 3/7353 PTE. The service number is slightly different on the 1914 Star Medal from the British War Medal for Private Bennett. 6Bronze The Victory Medal which was awarded to all who entered into a theatre of war. The rim on this medal is engraved 3/7353 PTE. HIGHRS The same engraving as noted on the silver War Medal. 7 The silver Khedive’s Sudan Medal (1897) and 2 clasps. This medal was established in 1897 and was awarded by the Khedivate of Egypt for service during the Mahdist War in Sudan. The rim of this medal is engraved 3229 A. BENNETT 1st SEA HIGHRS. Additional photos are available upon request. Total weight of the ribbons, clasps, medals and rear pin is 307 grams. As noted in the photos, the ribbons show some soiling and wear.
