This listing features a set of WW1 British Empire Victory and Campaign Medals. These medals were awarded to soldiers who served in the First World War, specifically those who served in the British Empire. The Victory Medal, also known as the Inter-Allied Victory Medal, was awarded to all who served in a theatre of war between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918. The Campaign Medal, also known as the British War Medal, was awarded to those who served in a theatre of war between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918. These medals are in used condition, but are in good shape considering their age. The horse tramples on the Prussian eagle shield and the emblems of death, a skull and cross-bones. In the background are ocean waves and just off-centre near the right upper rim is the risen sun of Victory.
Charmbury’s father and brother also served in the ASC. An Egyptian war era CDV of Charmbury’s father Theodore A. Charmbury is included with this group. Another relative of Charmbury was an avid photographer who I believe migrated to Canada.

For sale are a WW2 British Royal Eletrical Mechanical Engineers Trench Art Jewellery Box Which is in good condition (however there is one pip missing on the right hand side which can be easily replaced). This Jewellery/ cigar box is decorated with ww2 period royal electrical mechanical engineers cap badges, collar badges, royal army ordnance corps beret badge, officers crown pipe and rank pips. This is a nice unusual piece. Trench art is any decorative item made by soldiers, prisoners of war, or civilians where the manufacture is directly linked to armed conflict or its consequences. It offers an insight not only to their feelings and emotions about the war, but also their surroundings and the materials they had available to them. This is a nice unusual pieces of trench art!
