Boer/WW1 set of medals Irish Fus, RE. Dublin man, later worked for Guinness

Lying In Hospital, Dublin and died here too on the 2nd August 1936 due to the heart failure. He was from 62 North Kings Street, Dublin. Last years of his life he was in 12 St. He started his service age 21 at the 1888 with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. Apparently he had many convictions and desertions. He was discharged 1896. Then he served with the Royal Irish Fusiliers, including war in South Africa where he earned his Queen South Africa Medal named to 2601 W. During the WW1 he enlisted age 46 to the Royal Engineers on the 17 May 1916, straight after the Easter Rising. He served in 12thbattalion, Royal Engineers in Egypt. His Service number was 163409 and British War Medal and Victory Medal are named to 163409 PNR. Following year he was sent back home and he was with the Labour Corps (service number 348318). After discharge he worked for a Guinness and his name appears on their archive as well. There are many pages of his service files available in FindMyPast. Some of them referring to his name Faulkner as alias. Also his list of convictions is pretty impressive as well. Medals are lose and not mounted. They will make nice display. Only Victory Medal has an original ribbon at the moment. Happy to post worldwide. Please let me know if you have any questions. The item “Boer/WW1 set of medals Irish Fus, RE. This is a very interesting WW1 medal group to Pte L S Jeffrey who served at Gallipoli with the 1st battalion Royal Irish regiment and with the regiment was mentioned in despatches”for gallant and distinguished services in the field”. The soldiers are displayed with a turkish star from Gallipoli, I believe the enameled star to be original, just a fairly poor quality example. Private Lewis Jeffrey served with the Transport section of the army service corps before joining the Royal Irish regiment and being mentioned in despatches. I believe his medals will be named to him in the A. C as this was his first regiment he served with. I believe Pte Lewis S Jeffrey was from Glasgow and served in Gallipoli. I also have his brothers medal group for sale on another listing. He was Gallipoli casualty with the Army cyclist corps. His medals are contemporary framed like his brothers and both medal groups have came from the same source. Any questions please feel free to ask.
