WWII AUSCHWITZ CROSS WITH MINIATURE IN CASE. The Krzy Owicimski (AUSCHWITZ CROSS) was instituted on March 14, 1985, primarily a Polish decoration, awarded to honour the inmates of German concentration camps, and not only those interned in Auschwitz (the Polish name of Auschwitz is Owicim). Krzy Owicimski was generally awarded to Poles, but was also awarded to foreigners in very special cases. It could also be awarded posthumously. It ceased to be awarded in 1999. An exception was made in the case of Greta Ferusic, who was awarded the last cross under special circumstances in February 2004. Scarce WW1 medal group 1st Royal Irish Regiment Mentioned in despatches

This is a very interesting WW1 medal group to Pte L S Jeffrey who served at Gallipoli with the 1st battalion Royal Irish regiment and with the regiment was mentioned in despatches”for gallant and distinguished services in the field”. The soldiers are displayed with a turkish star from Gallipoli, I believe the enameled star to be original, just a fairly poor quality example. Private Lewis Jeffrey served with the Transport section of the army service corps before joining the Royal Irish regiment and being mentioned in despatches. I believe his medals will be named to him in the A. C as this was his first regiment he served with. I believe Pte Lewis S Jeffrey was from Glasgow and served in Gallipoli. I also have his brothers medal group for sale on another listing. He was Gallipoli casualty with the Army cyclist corps. His medals are contemporary framed like his brothers and both medal groups have came from the same source. Any questions please feel free to ask. Scarce WW1 medal trio & plaque Army Cyclist Corps Gallipoli Low number 34

This is a scarce and interesting WW1 casualty medal group in contemporary frame to Pte Alexander Douglas Jeffrey who served in the Army Cyclist corps. The medals are frame with the soldiers death plaque and scroll. Medals have been in frame for a very long time and appear to all be correctly impressed”34 Pte A Jeffrey A Cyc Corps”. Pte Jeffrey had a very low service number of 34. I believe Alexander Jeffrey was from Glasgow and was shot in the chest and died of wounds in September 1915. This most likely took place at Gallipoli. I also have his brothers medal group for sale on another listing. He served with the Irish regiment in Gallipoli and was mentioned in despatches. His medal group also being contemporary framed. Both medal groups have both come privately from a house call. Any questions please feel free to ask.
