This is most appreciated. A very nice WW2 Canadian British Empire Medal Grouping with Memorial Crosses, Birks Memorial Bars, Medals and Badges to the McDONOUGH Brothers. D7685 Staff Sergeant Gordon Patrick McDONOUGH, Royal Canadian Artillery. Group is Court Mounted and Plated by William Scully. The BEM is properly impressed and includes the 1939-45 Star, France & Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Overseas Clasp and the 1939-45 War Medal. Note the miniature BEM is loose on the ribbon and requires secured fastening. Also includes an RCA Cap Badge and RCA cloth title. George VI Memorial Cross and Birks Memorial Bar to. D132965 Private Lester Joseph McDONOUGH, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Highlanders, with issue papers, box and case. Also included, 1939-45 Star, France & Germany Star, Defence Medal (Silver), Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Overseas Clasp (Silver), and 1939-45 War Medal (Silver), with boxes, and a SD&GH Cap Badge. Lester was asphyxiated by a dugout cave in. D175572 Private Leonard Donald McDONOUGH, Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment with issue papers, box and case. Also with 1939-45 Star, Italy Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Overseas Clasp (Silver), and 1939-45 War Medal (Silver), with boxes. Please note that there is NO Italy Star box. Also a H&PE Cap and Collar badges. Leonard was Killed in Action. Groupings also includes Catholic Religious Medals and a WW2 brown plastic/bakelite cross. Copies of Service Records to each of the brothers are also included. I have other images available, mainly of service records, if required. Very Nice Heavy Framed Group. See Pictures for details. A little research was done and papers are included. Air Gunner Gerald Kearns was from Halifax Nova Scotia. May 20th 1942 His aircraft exploded plunging burning wreckage into the German BF 100 E1 Flown by Oblt Friedrich Gutezeit Brustem (Belgium) 1km East of St Trond at 2:24 The two aircraft crashed at Brustem killing both crews. Offered for sale is a unique set to one German soldier Sebastian Hofer, 2nd Reserve Infantry Regiment, killed in action on 13 April 1918 by an artillery shell, at the age of 37 years and 4 months old in1918, including the very hard to find and very rare Memorial Cup, these were the equivalent of the British WW1 death plaques. Engraved with the soldiers’ name and date of death 13 April 1918 with a separately attached miniature iron cross to the front, silver hallmark stamp of 800 to the base. Set also includes his death card with a photo of him and his iron cross 2nd class, maker marked “M” to an as yet unidentified maker, correct 3 piece construction with a magnetic core. The above recipient was also entitled to the military merit cross, as noted on the card. The 2nd Reserve Infantry Regiment appears to have been part of the 3rd Reserve Division, which at the time of Sebastian Hofers death is recorded as having been positioned in a trench system to the north of Ailette, France, near the Chemin Des Dames in the Aisne area.
