Group of WW1&2 Medals Military Cross – Major CWG Bryan MC. The medals were issued to Major Charles Walter Gordon Bryan – M. Major Bryan served in WW1 in France & Belgium where he acted as consulting surgeon to the Third Army. He was mention in dispatches and awarded the Military Cross. During WW2 he was the officer in charge of Surgical Division RAMC acting as consulting surgeon to the Southern Command and from 1943 worked in St Marys hospital. The set comes with a photocopy of The London Gazette extract, dated Tuesday 29th May 1917 and features a message from the War Office stating names of special mention. And copy of the obituary of Major Charles Walter Gordon Bryan, M. The set is in good used condition. The medals have standard dimensions. WW1 DCM Medal Group Awarded – Company Sergeant Major C. Cooper Royal Fusiliers A group of three First World War medals awarded to Company Sergeant Major C. Cooper of The Royal Fusiliers, consisting of (from left to right). The Distinguished Conduct Medal, The British War Medal and The Victory Medal. The Distinguished Conduct Medal is engraved to the edge L-11886 C. The British War Medal is engraved to the edge L-11886 W. The Victory Medal is engraved to the edge L-11886 W. The medals are court mounted with a felt backing and pin clasp. Included with the medals is various photocopied paperwork regarding Company Sergeant Major C. Cooper, including his death certificate (1930) and Supplement to the London Gazette, 5th December, 1918. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during two attacks on a wood and a village. His company was badly cut up, and all the officers had become casualties. He reorganised the remnants and led them forward to the final objective with great determination. Working under very adverse conditions and in the face of intense fire this warrant officer set a fine example in maintaining the discipline and morale of the company. Only officer to have risen through the ranks, this wonderful set comprises of a medal group, 2 Bar George VI General Service Medal Malaya and Palestine bars correctly named to a 176533031 Sjt H Walton ASC, 39-45 star, africa star, burma star, war medal, defence medal, and a regular army service medal named to Lieut H Walton ASC, it then includes over 26 awards and badges some are very rare like the bisley pistol trophy in gilt silver boxed, there is also his rank titles and cap badge and also a a copy of the newspaper article and a photo of him with some shooting competitors one of which is featured in the photo and wrote a book which is included in this lot.
