WW1 Trio to Burton, CASC with Photo in uniform. William Burton was born 1st August, 1886 at Kingston, Ontario. Occupation was given as “Fireman” (usually railways at this time period), attested 25th Sept, 1914 at Valcartier. Wounded (buried in a dug-out) August 1916 causing him on-going knee problems for which he appears to of had subsequent hospitalizations. Trade grade as a “Wheeler”. He spent 1 month in the 6th Field Battery, 12 months 1st Div. Ammunition Park, 11 months Mechanical Transport, 2 years and 4 months in C. Engineers, 3 months in 8th Reserve Bn.
