Recipient served in Co H, 103rd Infantry, 26th Division. He was born in Germany, and resided in the state of Maine. Copy AGO card included, showing official issue 20 June 1947. Officially named in the style of that period. This was a duplicate issue as stated on the copy card. Check out the great citation included with the photos. He also was entitled to a SS & PH, both of which he lost 2x, and had two official duplicate reissues there as well. Whereabouts of both the SS & PH are unknown. Group also includes a 3-bar VM (pin broach missing), Yankee Division SSI, & Sergeants chevron. Includes copies of the SS & PH cards and 10+ pages of copied research. Priced at least half or maybe even a third of the price of what the early issue DSC would fetch. The item “26th Division WW1 Named Medal Group” is in sale since Monday, May 14, 2018. Recipient served in 101st Field Signal Battalion, 26th Division. Copy AGO card included, medal awarded off a HQ, 26th Div G. Citing recipient for gallantry in action during the battle of Seicheprey, April 20, 1918. This was one of the first major actions of the AEF, while from the German perspective it was little more than a raid. Very rare to find for such an early action. As per AGO card, this Medal is a reissue piece from 5-28-1940. Ostensibly, he lost his first issue Medal from Jan 31, 1933, and this is his officially requested reissue. The SSM is an early issue Bailey, Banks & Biddle made & marked piece, #d 11625. The 26th was entitled to a 5-bar in general, additional research could show a WIA, transfer, etc. Indicating why recipient recd a 3-bar Medal. These are 3 bars to which 26th Div was entitled. Note ribbon starting to split at broach on the VM. The item “26th Division WW1 Named & Numbered Medal Pair” is in sale since Friday, April 20, 2018.
