This is a very nice early World War II U. Air Medal in its black leatherette presentation case that is in excellent condition. The planchet is nicely struck and with mellow bronze finish that is now with an attractive light age toned patina. It is suspended from its original ribbon, which is undamaged, strong, and with excellent color. The medal is mounted on its original full wrapped broach with fully functional pin and roller locking catch assemblies. The medal is housed in its black leatherette case that is titled’AIR MEDAL’ in gold leaf on the lid. The interior is clean and undamaged. The pin back ribbon bar and enameled lapel pin are present in the case. This is a fine early war issued piece that remains in excellent, undamaged condition.
