WW2 US/American Named to a Private in the HQ Company, 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division Purple Heart Medal/Pin/Badge. Born in 1920, Derlin Whitfield Williamson was from Ballground, GA. He enlisted in the Army on May 22nd, 1941 and served with the 4th Division in North Africa and Europe. While there, he won 5 Bronze Stars, 3 Military Merit Medals and Good Conduct Medal. I only have the medal pictured. After WW2, he worked extensively with the Veteran of Foreign Wars. He died on May 21, 1997. Included with the sale are copies of the following: Draft Card, Enlistment Record, a newspaper article of his obituary with lots of information about his service, a picture of his gravestone, information on his gravestone and a copy of his VA death file.
