Soviet Researched Order of Patriotic War 2nd Class. The second variation, with a stick-pin. Comes researched, with citation for this order. Awarded to Guards sergeant Kremin P. Artillery aimer of 76mm gun, 34th Guards rifle regiment, 13th Guards division. According to citation, comrade Kremin during fighting on July 12, 1943, saw approaching enemy tanks, and put himself and his gun at direct line of fire. Despite imminent danger, and under heavy fire, he was able to destroy 2 enemy tanks!! , which helped Soviet infantry to advance and dwarf the attack. Originally recommended for 1st class order, but apparently, downgraded to 2nd class by regimental commander. Enamels are all original, and mainly intact, except the usual chip at 12 o’clock. Excellent condition otherwise, intact stick-pin, nice dark patina. Scarce early WW2 Pat. War order, even more so with 2 confirmed tanks kills in one battle.
