Post Armistice he attested for the Royal Air Force and served in the Equipment Branch. Commissioned Pilot Officer from Warrant Officer 29th February 1940, promoted War Service Flight Lieutenant 1st December 1942 and Acting Squadron Leader, later promoted Wing Commander, he retired retaining the rank of Wing Commander 10th December 1945. Post Armistice he attested for the Royal Air Force (342198) and served in the Equipment Branch, he was awarded the King George VI Coronation Medal 1937 whilst serving as a Flight Sergeant, RAF Middle East. The 1939 Register records he is a Warrant Officer RAF residing with his wife Elsie (married at Winchester in 1922) at 17 The Drove, Sleaford, Lincolnshire. Commissioned Pilot Officer from Warrant Officer 29th February 1940 (London Gazette 7th May 1940 page 2725), promoted War Service Flight Lieutenant 1st December 1942 (London Gazette 12th February 1943 page 753) and Acting Squadron Leader, later promoted Wing Commander, he retired retaining the rank of Wing Commander 10th December 1945 (London Gazette 25th March 1947 page 1385).
