1915 star/British War Medal/Victory medal to 1782 Pte T Kenyon Manch. With high quality group photograph including him, which I found on the Manchester Regiment Forum. Thomas is marked in the photo, and appears very clear. Born in St Mark’s, Bury, lived in Heywood, Lancs. Thomas Kenyon served in the 1st Manchester Regiment. He served in France from 11th December 1914, prior to being killed in action in Mesopotamia in the attack on Dujaila Redoubt, during the attempted relief of the siege of Kut. His battalion served in the following engagement. 1914 – Defence of Givenchy – 20-21 December. Battle of Neuve Chappelle – 10-13 March. Battle of St Julien – 24 April – 5 May. Battle of Aubers- 9 May. Battle of Festubert – 15-25 May. Following arrival in Mesopotamia, the battalion took part in. First attack on the Hanna – 21 Janaury. Attack on Dujaila Redoubt – 8 March.
