It is a rare Silver typ knight cross in one piece construction even for German Navy. The ribbon is original too. 27th Div WW1 Officially Engraved Purple Heart Medal + Paperwk Silver Star Recipt

This is a World War One medal, and World War One began in 1914 and ended in 1918 – 100 years ago. Purple Heart Medal with official government engraving to William Shearer for wounds suffered in World War 1 (WWI). Shearer served as a Sergeant in Company I, 107th Infantry Regiment, 27th Infantry Division. He was wounded in action on September 29, 1918, probably during the Somme Offensive. This is an officially government engraved purple heart. Shearer also received a Silver Star, but I do not have his Silver Star Medal. This is an American Emblem Company enameled medal with split wrap brooch. The medal is numbered 53362 Both medal and ribbon are in good condition. The ribbon drape shows some wear as you can see in the pictures. Included with the medal is the following documentation. A copy of his AGO card for his Purple Heart. A copy of his AGO card for his Silver Star. A copy of a paragraph from the history of the 107th showing his citation for the Silver Star. This will be packed securely to arrive safely. To commemorate the centennial of Americas involvement in World War I and honor the over 4 million men and women from the United States who served. This set includes a proof silver dollar and a proof silver Coast Guard Medal. Obverse: The obverse design, titled Soldiers Charge, depicts an almost stone-like soldier gripping a rifle. Barbed wire twines in the lower right hand side of the design. Inscriptions include LIBERTY, 1918, and IN GOD WE TRUST. Interesting collection all belonging to William O. Dixon of Lowca in Cumberland. Collection consists of his WW1 medals, a Silver Harrington Colliery medal, silver Albert watch chain with his silver St John Ambulance medal and a 1914 gold plated Coventry astral pocketwatch engraved to reverse of case with the initials C. Which stands for Cumberland Mining & Quarries Centre. C ondition is used but very good, the pocketwatch is not working (see images).
