The BWM/Victory pair are correctly impressed: 2/LIEUT G. The WW2 stars and medals are correctly impressed: 253058 G. George Philip WOODS was born on 24 March 1900, place unknown. There is an extensive research file. He served in the RAF on the Western Front in late 1918 as an Observer and credited driving down 1 enemy aircraft out of control. He left the RAF in April 1919. It’s not clear when he enlisted in the RAAF. He served in the Middle East between September 1941 and March 1943 and in the South West Pacific Area between February and August 1945. He was discharged on 25 Feb 1947 in the rank of Flight Lieutenant. All badges have original lugs or pins unless otherwise stated. All medals are full size unless otherwise stated. Australian Medal Group – 3 Wars!! – WW2/Korea/Malaya – WW2 RAAF + Army Later. Medal group of 6 with full research. WW2 medals named to 88715 A. Jenkins, UN Korea unnamed, GSM Malaya named to 6/1019 A. Allan William John Jenkins enlisted in Royal Australian Air Force immediately upon turning 18 in 1943. Served overseas in Bougainville in 1944-46 with Fighter Control Unit. Later enlisted in Royal Australian Army in 1954. Operations in Korea with 1RAR 1955-56. Transferred to 3RAR in 1957 and proceeded to Malaya for operations against Communist Terrorists from 1957-59. A great medal group for service in two branches of the armed forces with operations in three wars. Australian Long Service Medal Group to the Royal Australian Air Force. Served from WW2 to Vietnam. Medal group with full research, the recipients passport (showing entry stamps for Vietnam service), ID card, Dog Tags, Sargeant stripes, full set of miniature medals and ribbon bar. WW2 medals named to 72357 W. Convery, Vietnam and RAAF Long Service medal named to A2434 W. Walter Robert Convery enlisted in Royal Australian Air Force at 18 in 1942. Was discharged to the RAAF Reserve in Feb 1945 but was recalled to the RAAF in Jan 1947 and joined the permanent RAAF in 1948. Was promoted Corporal in 1952, to Sargeant in 1965 after service in various technical trades. Served in Vietnam with 9 (Iroquois Helicopter) Squadron from Dec 1969 – Dec 1970. A great medal group for long service in the RAAF for service in two wars. With research from Mostly Unsung Military Research confirming service and eligibility. The four medals are court mounted in typical style comprising: 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, British War Medal 1939-45, and the Australian Service Medal, all correctly impressed 404180 E. Research still to be undertaken, however he has a 30 page file at the National Archives. An original, desireable Australian RAAF service group. VERY DIFFICULT to find KIA RAAF Aircrew, let alone pilots, especially with all stars and medals correctly impressed. He was local to, me, growing up in Toorak. Not mucked around with at all. Comes with “Mostly Unsung” research. BARLOW was a 20-year-old Flying Officer Pilot from Adelaide, South Australia. Upon joining RAAF heavy bomber squadron number 467, he had completed a’second dickie’ trip and then a successful bombing trip to Caen on 18th July in PB-234 before he and his mainly Australian crew, flying Lancaster LM-119, went missing on the night of 20/21 -July 1944 after successfully bombing Courtrai. All seven crew died. Mostly Unsung’ research included with the medals. A very nice active service group. VERY DIFFICULT to find KIA RAAF Aircrew, let alone pilots, especially with all stars and medals correctly impressed. There are two pictures of Barlow available on the AWM site. Offered is an original WW2 Air Crew Europe Campaign Star. 39 mm wide toned bronze six-pointed faceted star with integral loop for ribbon suspension; the face with the crowned cypher of King and Emperor George VI centrally within a stippled ring inscribed THE AIR CREW EUROPE STAR; the reverse plain; on correct ribbon. Very good condition overall & 100% genuine issued piece. The Star was instituted in 1945 and awarded for operational flying over Europe from bases in the U. For a two-month period between the declaration of war (3 September 1939) and 4 June 1944. The Star was awarded immediately if service was terminated by death, disability or wounding. Anyone qualifying for the Air Crew Europe, Atlantic or France and Germany Stars would be awarded only one the first-earned, with clasp(s) denoting entitlement to the other(s). WW2 Australian RAAF medal group. St John medals + wifes medals. This is a fantastic group to a husband and wife who had Military and St John Ambulance service. Apologies if my description of the St John medals are incorrect. I don’t have much knowledge of them. St John Ambulance Maltese Cross medal. 1939-45 star, Atlantic star with France and Germany bar, Africa star, Defence medal, British war medal and Australian service medal all correctly named in large RAAF impressing. This is his full medal entitlement at the time. Service medal of the Order of St. John with 2 bars. Last 7 medals court mounted together. Also comes with a set of early miniatures for the first 7 medals. Made by KC Luke Melb. Comes with a photocopy of his archive file and his Operational Record Book (ORB) from 3/2/43 to 29/4/43. It shows he flew as a F/Sgt with 48 Sqd out of Gibraltar and Afadir. He flew 485 hours as a pilot and 20 as a 2nd pilot. He completed 95 sorties from 26/8/42 to 14/7/43. Enlisted Melbourne, 29/3/41 aged 19. Served Middle East, Southern Rhodesia, South Africa, UK, Gibraltar, North Africa, Mediterranean and the UK. Discharged 1/7/47 as a F/Lt. An Officer of the Order of St John medal. In case of issue. St John Ambulance Maltese Cross medal (no ribbon). Defence medal, British war medal, 1977 Coronation medal, Service medal of the Order of St John medal with 4 bars. All court mounted together. All unnamed but her name is Massie.
