The Victory and British war medal come with the original paperwork from the Record Office. There is also a postcard picture which I take it is of the soldier in question HENRY YAROSLAW. Is marked around the 2 medals and stamped on the rear of the Star medal. Royal Field Artillery Driver “A”Bty 83Bde. Born in Kensington London. All look to have original ribbons as are showing signs of age as well as the medals. A nice group to have. Australian WW2 Medals – Gnr A. Robertson – 2/7th Field Regiment – North Africa. On offer is a very collectable WW2 medal group (full entitlement) for a gunner who saw action with the 2/7th Field Regiment in North Africa. The group of five medals are named to SX4819 A. Andrew Jamieson Robertson was a farm labourer who was born in Falkirk, Scotland on 4 June 1907. He moved to South Australia and enlisted in the A. After training in Palestine Robertson was involved in actions in North Africa (including Libya), against the Germans and Italians, mainly near Mersah Matruh. In early July 1942 he was involved in actions near El Alamein, then the pursuit to El Daba. He was discharged at Wayville, South Australia on 5 October 1945. His claim for war related illnesses was accepted by the Australian Repatriation Commission in October 1945 and in 1950 Robertson was employed by the Department of Works & Housing near Woomera, South Australia. Andrew Robertson died on 21 October 1990 and is buried at the Strathalbyn Cemetery, South Australia. This medal group comes with a number of photographs (including a service portrait of Robertson) and some research material. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. A full size British WW1 Military Medal Group with original ribbons, the Group consists of. Military Medal, correctly named to: 39492 Sjt. 1914-15 Star, correctly named to. British War Medal, correctly named to. Victory Medal, correctly named to. Serjeant Thomas John Southey was killed in action 19.08.1917 whilst on duty with the 3rd Field Survey Company, R. He is buried on the Roisel Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France. The award of the Military Medal is confirmed in the London Gazette and his MIC. The MIC shows that he was attached from the R. To the 3rd Field Survey Company, R. As he earned his MM. The Group comes with copies of both MICĀ“s and the London Gazette Entry. Condition of the medals is VF or better, please see all photos – 3rd Field Coy were involved in charting the battlefield prior to attacks etc – there work was dangerous as it involved journeys into no mans land and front line this award of an MM was for work carried out whilst attached to Field Survey Company – they used a lot of Royal Field Artillery men as they were experts in field guns and ranging techniques hence there importance in trench warfare.
