For sale are a WW2 British Royal Eletrical Mechanical Engineers Trench Art Jewellery Box Which is in good condition (however there is one pip missing on the right hand side which can be easily replaced). This Jewellery/ cigar box is decorated with ww2 period royal electrical mechanical engineers cap badges, collar badges, royal army ordnance corps beret badge, officers crown pipe and rank pips. Before the task was completed his platoon came under heavy machine gun fire at short range. In spite of casualties, the. Was repulsed and the position held. At the time ordered for his withdrawal, the enemy had penetrated both flanks. Through his coolness examples and fine leadership, he succeeded in re-joining the battalion some eight hours later. Ian Gray Jessop was commissioned second lieutenant in the Royal Leicestershire Regiment on 22. July 1939 and served with them in Norway during the early stages of the Second World War.
