A ww2 Royal Navy medal group of five consisting of 1939-45 Star, Atlantic Star with France and Germany Clasp (i think a copy clasp), Africa Star, Burma star and War medal. With Admiralty condolence slip, box of issue, sailors Board of Trade Continuous Certificate of Discharge and Death Certificate. Medals attributable to Robert Arthur Woodhead born in Cheshire on 4/11/1914. He joined the Merchant Navy in 1931 serving on the Shropshire as a Pantryman and then Assistant Steward. He joined the Derbyshire in 1935 and was still on her when she became HMS Derbyshire in 1939 serving as an Armed Merchant Cruiser. Robert Woodhead died of Tuberculosis on 17/12/1948 and his medals were sent to his sister Marjorie Johnstone in New Malden, Surrey (confirmed as sister on death certificate).
