Offered here is a lot of various items from the estate of the late Battle of the Bulge (Ardennes Offensive) veteran PFC Donald Showalter including 2 scrapbooks (from his induction to discharge) kept by his mother, a small diary describing some of the action he saw at St. Vith, his uniform pins & patches, dog tags, medals, ribbons, & lots of pictures from his time in the service INCLUDING Germany & Belgium and his Army Band buddies. BIO : Showalter was from Reading, Berks County, Pa. & during WWII he served in the US Army, and because of his musical trombone skill, was assigned to the 106th Infantry Band. As it turned out this area became the site for the famed ” Battle of the Bulge ” and all military were recruited to action on the front lines including the band. 4 Campaign Medals – American Campaign w/4 battle stars, World War 2 medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign & Good Conduct Medal. 4 Ribbons – 2 Campaign Ribbons for the above medals listed & 2 taped inside one of the scrapbooks European Theater w/4 battle stars & Good Conduct ribbon. 8 Lapel pins (some tarnish on a couple). 1 set of his dog tags. Also included are postcards from the U.
