Very nice World War I US Victory Medal in its original box. The medal was manufactured by the S. Adams Stamp & Stationary Co. Louis, Missouri on March 30, 1920 – which is clearly marked on the outside of the brown cardboard box. The medal is the early wrap brooch version, with the “FRANCE” bar affixed to the ribbon. The Army began issuing these on June 21, 1920 – almost three months after this medal was produced. As such, this example is among the first to be mailed out to those veterans who applied. The medal remains in very good condition, showing signs of age. Appears to be unworn. Tissue paper is missing, as is the ribbon bar. The box shows signs of age and wear. Corner bruising and edge wear is evident. One end of the box is missing. Please see the pictures for more detail. Guaranteed 100% authentic in every respect for life.
