He enlisted in the army in 1916, trained at Camp Hagman, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was said to have been stationed in France, then served in Siberia with the 167th Company, North Russia Transportation Corps. He lived from 1895 – 1959. Lot includes a wrap brooch WW1 victory medal with Siberia clasp, VFW cap with ribbon bars & patches (the AEF Siberia patch appears to be a 1930′s Studley made example) & misc. Veteran’s items attached, rare unposted AEF postcard from Siberia, 3-page handwritten letter from Siberia described by him as “Just off the planet”! , & a rare yard long photo of his unit while in Brest, France (badly curled from age & with edge tears & stains).
