The front shows a four armed maltese cross with an eagle in each corner. The front reads Pour Le Merite. There is a Kings crown with a F below on the upper arm. The reverse side is blank. The top of the fan and the oblong suspension loop are both maker marked JGUS for the manufacturing firm of Joseph Godet Und Sohn. Double sided powder blue enamel with a brass frame. The cross is mounted onto a medal bar with a Hindenburg Cross with Swords. The reverse side is maker marked Sch. Has a thin horizontal pin back with a c catch. Magnetic die struck steel construction. The ribbons are machine embroidered woven padded cotton material. This medal bar would have been worn on the walking out dress tunic.
