I took several steps to do the right thing and return them to the family or vet and all were unsuccessful. I made multiple attempts to contact the organization Purple Hearts Reunited, I never received any return calls or emails. I tried to research the veteran’s name which is on the back of the purple heart, I was unable to find a relation. I know there are many. All of the medals are in excellent condition, several are in the original boxes and as I said the heart is engraved on the back with the soldier’s name. These are original, these are not props or reproductions. A United States soldier was either wounded or gave his life in combat and assuming all of these medals were awarded to him, he was quite busy serving his country. I can provide additional pictures if needed. In this group there is the authentic, engraved Purple Heart in the original box with the additional lapel pin and the smaller pins. A Bronze Star with the additional lapel pin. Service medals from the European African Middle Eastern (with original box, lapel pin and additional stars), WW2 (with original box), Asiatic Pacific, Vietnam, Southwest Asia with additional lapel pin. 7 medals total, 3 with boxes and 4 with the lapel pins. The Tom Mix patch was just something that was in one of the medal boxes, so it stays with the medals.
