WW2 Australian RAAF medal group. St John medals + wifes medals. This is a fantastic group to a husband and wife who had Military and St John Ambulance service. Apologies if my description of the St John medals are incorrect. I don’t have much knowledge of them. St John Ambulance Maltese Cross medal. 1939-45 star, Atlantic star with France and Germany bar, Africa star, Defence medal, British war medal and Australian service medal all correctly named in large RAAF impressing. This is his full medal entitlement at the time. Service medal of the Order of St. John with 2 bars. Last 7 medals court mounted together. Also comes with a set of early miniatures for the first 7 medals. Made by KC Luke Melb. Comes with a photocopy of his archive file and his Operational Record Book (ORB) from 3/2/43 to 29/4/43. It shows he flew as a F/Sgt with 48 Sqd out of Gibraltar and Afadir. He flew 485 hours as a pilot and 20 as a 2nd pilot. He completed 95 sorties from 26/8/42 to 14/7/43. Enlisted Melbourne, 29/3/41 aged 19. Served Middle East, Southern Rhodesia, South Africa, UK, Gibraltar, North Africa, Mediterranean and the UK. Discharged 1/7/47 as a F/Lt. An Officer of the Order of St John medal. In case of issue. St John Ambulance Maltese Cross medal (no ribbon). Defence medal, British war medal, 1977 Coronation medal, Service medal of the Order of St John medal with 4 bars. All court mounted together. All unnamed but her name is Massie. Also comes with a medal ribbon bar for the WW2 medals and service medal and a set of court mounted miniatures for the last 4 medals. See photos for a better idea of condition.
